Dear All,
What a strange and different time this is for us all.
However in the depth of this paradigm change in our society, there are plenty of great things going on.
I would like to thank all those members of our community who are in defined critical roles that are keeping the UK economy moving, people eating and people healthy snd safe. It is worrying time for us and you are going that extra step to make sure life continues.
I would also like to thank the army of local volunteers who have immediately jumped at the call to action to help the many in our community who need neighbourly assistance. If you would like to volunteer locally then the Neighbourhood Care team are coordinating this effort: https://ewhneighbourcare.org.uk/coronavirus.
We are pleased to say the parish has assisted financially with a leaflet drop to ensure that the Neighbour Care service gets as much publicity as possible.
With respect to commerce, I know business and households are looking at their finances, however, the economy will need people to spend still if we are not going to grind to a complete halt. By continuing spending, we will hopefully keep as many businesses afloat as possible and as many people in gainful employment. Clearly everybody is in a different personal situation, but if you have the means to spend please do so.
From a very local point of view I am pleased to say that the Government has slackened it rules on virtual meetings for public bodies. As such the PC will continue its regular monthly meeting albeit from a virtual point of view via Video Conference. Should you wish to join these meeting please email the Parish Clerk (clerk@eastwoodhay-pc.gov.uk) who will send you an invitation to join the Video Call. A normal meeting agenda and minutes will be publicly available on the EWPC website.
Should you have any request or ideas of things that the Parish Council could be doing to help the community, over and above what we are already doing then please do not hesitate to contact myself directly or the Clerk.
Wishing you and your family a safe passage through these unprecedented times.
